Many years ago, I thoroughly enjoyed co-hosting radio shows at the local college radio station. I decided it could be fun to create playlists on occasion, as if it were a radio station of my youth--hence this.

Typically, around half the songs on each playlist are randomly selected from the music I have on my computer, i.e., my old cd collection that hasn't been updated much since my college days, with the notable exceptions of music added by my son, daughter, and my bride, Dama; and the remaining tracks on each playlist constitute active selections.  Genres like "Viking Metal" and bands like "H.I.M" are my brother Brian's influence and legacy.

This process should yield diverse playlists--although, admittedly, The Beatles and Green Day (or their respective members) will likely find themselves on every playlist.  My biggest regret is that I can't…
