Theatre: Play Production

About the Course

This course offers an immersive exploration into the world of play production, guiding students through the entire process of bringing a theatrical work to life. Participants will engage in hands-on experiences in script analysis, casting, directing, and stage management, while also delving into set design, lighting, and sound. Students will apply all of this to the context of 10-minute plays. Through collaborative projects, students will learn the importance of teamwork and communication in the theater. By the end of the course, participants will have developed a deeper understanding of the artistic and technical aspects of play production, culminating in a 10-minute Play Festival showcasing their collective efforts.

Jack Foster

Jack, originally from Montana, has lived in Puerto Rico for about twenty years and Cabo Rojo for about ten years with Damaris, his love. Jack earned a BA in Literature & Writing while minoring in Drama at the University of Montana Western. While working at the university, Jack discovered his second love (after Damaris), mathematics--which Jack had the opportunity to study at UMWestern as well. Jack and Damaris live entirely off-the-grid with their ever-evolving family of animals.
